So far so good. Even though I do not drive at speeds that would normally require a radar detector, it is great to see those who are out to get you. It wasn't until the law enforcement communities of Nevada and Utah started to use undercover vehicles and setting up speed traps to increase revenues that I found it necessary to buy the Vector V995. So far so good, I have found it to be a very useful tool. It would be nice if the P.D. started to be more concerned in protecting the public instead of getting the public....

It seems to catch all, or at least most radar from a loooong distance. From either front, or back! I had the alarm go off on I26 in middle of the night, no cars to be seen. After hitting the breaks and getting down to the limit, I finally noticed a car way behind me. He caught up and passed me, it was an unmarked S.C. Trooper, (white Challenger). Not sure if he did get me at 20+ over the limit, but I'm sure he would have gotten me had I not slowed. The detector paid for itself, AT LEAST once!...... Negative side, it does give alarms for a lot unknown things, (automatic doors, car lots, mostly signals around town) but after getting used to it you'll know if it's the real thing or not. I've had it over a year and have no regrets, You'd be hard pressed to find a better detector at $200!

Very sensitive, it's saved my keester a number of times. I tell passenagers it's my grocery store detector :-). I wish it had GPS to remember the false call areas. One nice feature to counter-act that problem is the mute button on the power plug. It makes it easy to mute the false calls or those roadside speed signs. I liked it so much I bought one for my daughter for Christmas (She's speeding ticket prone).
